Una piccola delusione da parte di Chomet che mi aveva entusiasmato con "Les triplettes di Belleville" e il cortometraggio realizzato per "Paris, Je t'aime".
La sceneggiatura è di Tati, i disegni fantastici, ma c'è una moscieria che pervade tutta la pellicola che non aiuta le buone intenzioni del regista. Nella seconda parte si respira aria di poesia, sulla scia di un Fellini, ma Chomet dovrebbe dedicarsi a progetti più personali per convincere.

A dire il vero sono sorpreso: dopo venti minuti abbastanza noiosi, il resto è un affresco appassionante di un Italia che non conosciamo, con un cast di grandi attori. Martone non fa virtuosisimi alla regia, ma va' bene così, anche se poteva essere più 'contemporaneo' in alcune scene che risultano troppo di stampo classico.

Come per il recente "Il petroliere" un altro bel titolo (The special relationship) viene tradotto malamente. Il film è molto verboso, pieno di riferimenti alla cronaca, ma appassionante: io personalmente l'ho trovato più riuscito di "The Queen". Michael Sheen ancora bravissimo, come il resto del cast. Finale non incisivo come il resto del film, ma il lavoro di Loncraine (Riccardo III) è senza particolari pecche e per me è quasi al livello di "Frost/Nixon".

Visto il primo film di Nolan al cinema Trevi in occasione di una rassegna sul Cinema a Londra. Film tesissimo ancora imperfetto in quanto a stile (e anche gli attori a parte quello che interpreta Cobb non le azzeccano tutte), ma con un finale da brividi.
