Il suo "Zack & Miri have a porno" non si è mai visto, ma ecco che Kevin Smith si fa vivo in un contesto più commerciale. "Cop Out" (che inizialmente doveva chiamarsi "Couple of dicks") ha alcune buone idee come quella di unire il pianeta dei 'buddy-buddy movie' alla Arma letale con il mondo dei collezionisti nerd, di cui il regista fa chiaramente parte, e alcune buone gag. Il film fa ridere, ma è troppo convenzionale rispetto alle prime produzioni della View & Askew. Quanto al cast, sarò banale, ma è Seann William Scott il più divertente del gruppo (ma c'è anche un cameo di Jason Lee)! Come film estivo ci puo' stare, ma non aspettatevi Clerks III.

facendo un po' il bilancio di questa prima parte dell'anno cinematografico devo dire che sono rimasto alquanto deluso, pochi i film che meritano davvero.

Visto alla rassegna del cinema asiatico del Farnese il nuovo film di Bong Joon-Ho ("The Host", "Memories of Murders"). "Mother" ruota attorno a una madre che indaga su un omicidio cercando di scagionare il figlio ritenuto il colpevole. E' un thriller che mischia sapientemente scene con una suspence incredibile e situazioni al limite dell'assurdo: a questo proposito già nei titoli di testa ne vediamo delle belle, con la protagonista che si mette a ballare da sola in mezzo a un campo di grano deserto. Troppi colpi di scena nella seconda parte probabilmente, ma avercene oggi di thriller così! Memorabile.

Altra visione originale sul mondo dei vampiri dopo l'ottimo "Lasciami entrare": questa volta però non si parla di bambini vampiri, ma di un prete vampiro... che scopre le proprie pulsioni sessuali. Il film di Park Chan Wook ("Old Boy") gira attorno a vari argomenti come la religione, la malattia, l'amore, la famiglia, il senso di colpa senza mai essere troppo pesante. "Thirst" inoltre saccheggia un po' da tutto il cinema di vampiri (compreso il capolavoro "Il buio si avvicina" della Bygelow"), ma lo fa con una visionarietà tale che, durante tutta la visione del film, pensi di assistere a qualcosa di nuovo. Wook sa anche alternare sapientemente scene da voltastomaco e altre veramente esilaranti (soprattutto quelle in cui è presente il marito della protagonista femminile). Come in "Old Boy" le immagini sono bellissime, specialmente quelle della casa tutta bianca col sangue schizzato sul pavimento e sulle pareti. Bravi anche gli attori: il protagonista Hong Hang Soo ha interpretato pure "The Host" e "The good, the bad & the weird", 2 perle dell'ultimo cinema coreano. Difficilmente lo vedremo sui nostri schermi: io ho avuto la fortuna di vederlo all'Asiatic Film Festival, ma fortunatamente ci sono sempre altri mezzi per recuperarlo.
