Also, we've heard back from WHV and have learned that the studio IS indeed planning a U.S. Blu-ray release of The Superman Motion Picture Anthology. There's no additional information from them yet, but I think you can safely assume that it will street here around the same time as the U.K. release in June. We'll post official details as we get them. Meanwhile, there are reports circulating (including here at the Spanish site ZonaDVD) that the set will include 8 discs total - 6 for the movies (including films I, III, IV, Superman Returns and BOTH versions of Superman II on individual discs) and 2 discs of bonus content. Keep in mind this isn't official yet. We expect that WHV will make their actual announcement here in the States in the next few weeks. Thanks to Bits reader Santiago R. for the link.

Warner Announces Superman Motion Picture Anthology

"Warner Home Video has announced The Superman Motion Picture Anthology for Blu-ray release on June 7. The 8-disc collection features all five Superman movies (Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (Christopher Reeve), and Superman Returns (Brandon Routh)) with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio sound (Stereo for Superman IV)."

Questa e' un'edizione che non prenderò. Posseggo già la ULTIMATE DVD in tin-box, e quindi questo sarebbe solo un upgrade audio/video: fattore non determinante per farmi spendere altri 70/80 Euro
Essendo film di catalogo, appena raggiungerà i 30 euro me lo prenderò, per collezionismo

Temo che questo box potrebbe andare fuori catalogo ben prima di raggiungere i 30€
Cmq nemmeno io sono convintissimo, ho la tin box dvd e :

- 2 dei 3 film degni di nota (che sono anche quelli che mi interessano) sono già fuori da un po' singolarmente, a prezzo molto accessibile e con comparti video che hanno riscosso pareri contrastanti
- gli extra mi sembrano i medesimi, a parte un paio di titoli che sono passati in HD (i cartoni di Fleischer mi pare siano rimasti in SD)
- come punti a favore rimangono la theatrical di Superman (mi risulta che il BD di Superman contenga solo la director's cut) e le due versioni di Superman II.

È un box Warner cartonato. Non ha nulla di speciale oltre video (per noi italiani non ci sarà sicuro audio HD). Sono film di catalogo e il 3 ed il 4, lasciamoli artisticamente perdere. Tutt'oggi in tin box troviamo a 20 euro (sempre Warner) Band of Brothers, per esempio !
Ti faccio un fischio, quando lo comprerò a prezzo stracciato ;-)

Proprio l'altro ieri guardando la megaconfezione in metallo dei DVD mi chiedevo se in BD la facessoro uscire...
Potrei prenderla solo se:

Stessi identici extra, come quantità e filmati
Se Superman (1) ci sia anche nella versione con audio originale e non con la nuova (voce di Ward).
Il box in metallo lo presi solo perchè c'era la versione originale che nel precedente dvd di Superman (1) era stato ridoppiato è c'era il solo audio nuovo....scandaloso.

Ecco le tracce audio del cofanetto Warner (la presenza dell'italiano mono su Superman 1 e multicanale sull'extended sono ulteriore conferma che sul montaggio cinematografico ci sarà il doppiaggio originale e sull'extended il ridoppiaggio; inoltre la presenza del solo inglese per il montaggio Donner's Cut di Superman 2 conferma che non ci saranno salti audio fra originale e doppiaggi in quel montaggio alternativo perchè appunto ci sarà solo l'inglese

Per ora è uscita in USA, ha audio ITA ed è region free.

Lunedì esce in UK, probabilmente saranno gli stessi dischi, resta l'incognita del packaging.
