Disney Blu-ray Classics Reshuffled, Including Dumbo

"Ultimate Disney is informing that the Blu-ray release of Dumbo (slated for last Tuesday) won't be released on Blu-ray until February 2011. Reportedly, there won't be any classic animated Disney titles on BD in the first half of the year. Beauty and the Beast is still scheduled for October, and Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are bumped from May to December. The Lion King is expected for October 2011".

"Arrow Video have announced the UK Blu-ray Disc release of Day of the Dead on 29th March 2010 priced at £24.99 RRP. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of writer-director George A. Romero’s 1985 horror film, Arrow have created a special two-disc Blu-ray release that features a host of world exclusive extras, including a restored presentation of the film, a new hi-def soundtrack (the original ‘uncensored dialogue’ version, completely restored), four alternate sleeves, a double-sided poster, a 24-page collector’s booklet ‘For Every Dawn There Is A Day’, plus a very special collector’s comic – ‘Day Of The Dead: Desertion’ – featuring a brand new ‘Bub’ storyline. There are also two all-new retrospectives ‘Joe Of The Dead’ and ‘Travelogue Of The Dead’".

Rumor: Remastered Gladiator Blu-ray Coming Up

The Digital Bits, quoting industry sources, is reporting that Paramount Home Entertainment, in cooperation with Universal Studios Home Entertainmment, will re-issue Gladiator on Blu-ray later this year, using a brand-new 1080p transfer that was just completed "a couple of months ago." Bill Hunt says this was done "after Paramount and Universal realized how bad the first one was, naturally." Again according to the Bits' sources, the studio plans to schedule this Blu-ray rerelease for late summer or fall, to coincide with either the theatrical or (more probably) the home video release of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, and possibly labeled as a 10th Anniversary Edition.

Me l'aspettavo, che figli di *******, certi comportamenti balordi riescono ad adottarli anche con i BD. :-13

Visto che alla Paramount/Universal si sono evidentemente pentiti di aver manipolato troppo il master, speriamo almeno che questo serva di lezione alle altre major sulla realizzazione di altre prossime edizioni.
